Exactly one year ago, as the management of Eurofork reviewed the guidelines on the gender equality management system, the specific Key Performance Indicators related to Gender Equity Policies required for organizations, and listened to the thoughts of employees within the company, they wondered whether the company had what it took to achieve certification.
A challenge as exciting as it was complex to win. In fact, the UNI/PdR 125:2022 reference practice is not a national standard but rather a document published by UNI, as provided by EU Regulation No. 1025/2012, which reflects the outcomes of discussions held in the working group on corporate gender certification as part of PNRR Mission 5, coordinated by the Department for Equal Opportunities and involving the Department for Family Policies, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, the Ministry of Economic Development, and the National Equality Advisor.
However, the increasingly frequent news reports regarding femicides, violence against women, and gender injustices demonstrate that sporadic dissent is not enough. The real challenge lies in achieving a true paradigm shift.
Eurofork immediately took action to integrate gender equality principles and respect for diversity into corporate objectives, promoting the dissemination of these principles externally as well, with the goal of systematically raising public awareness.
In just a few months, the company worked to measure progress in a clear and standardized manner, laying the groundwork for a corporate policy aimed at gender equality.
Eurofork introduced a new corporate vocabulary focused on the daily management and development of human resources, aiming to prevent the gender gap, any form of vertical or horizontal segregation, deepening topics related to work-life balance, and promoting the role of women at all decision-making levels while avoiding gender stereotypes.
This organizational approach has allowed the company to achieve significant empowerment in just over a year, understood as a process of continuous and conscious growth of individual potential, with a corresponding increase in autonomy and the assumption of responsibility, both in the workplace and in the political and social context.
Eurofork has also invested in employee training, achieving with great satisfaction a high level of attention and qualification from employees.
During the certification audit for process compliance, which took place on Thursday, December 7, 2023, Eurofork demonstrated to the external certifying body that it had implemented measures to ensure work-life balance for all employees, established specific agreements for part-time work upon request, and proudly presented the guide committee’s regulations.
Maurizio Traversa, CEO of Eurofork, upon obtaining the certification, commented: “We are committed to sharing and integrating our experience into daily life, and we are open to supporting other companies by sharing our experience, without the presumption of becoming a ‘model to follow.’ Over the next two years, we will continue to improve, further implementing corporate policies in favor of gender equity.”
Eurofork firmly believes that the key to success is the achievement of gender equality: only through harmony and collaboration between women and men can the growth and success of society be achieved.
