Pinerolo, December 15, 2023 – The persistence of gender-based violence in 2023 continues to represent a widespread threat, as highlighted by more than one hundred tragic femicides this year.
Eurofork, already certified for gender equality on December 7, continues its commitment to raising awareness for a culture free of gender disparity and, above all, to combating violence against women. The company chose to leave a tangible mark by donating a red bench to the Municipality of Pinerolo—an emblem of the fight against violence towards women.
The inauguration of the red bench, carried out in collaboration with the association SvoltaDonna, took place today, December 15, 2023, at 4:00 PM in Pinerolo (Corso Torino, Piazza Cavour bus stop), with the participation of Pinerolo’s Mayor, Luca Salvai; Chairwoman of the Special Committee for Equal Opportunities, Silvia Lorenzino; Eurofork co-founders, Maurizio Traversa and Pier Franco Combina; and SvoltaDonna President, Marina Airasca.
Eurofork CEO, Maurizio Traversa, stated:
“This is not just a symbolic statement against violence towards women, but a concrete action to give voice to those who suffer from all forms of abuse. We are showing that we are on the front lines in fighting this social tragedy. Beneath the quote by Lidia Ravera, which perfectly captures our sentiment—‘As long as there is even one woman threatened because she is a woman, we will not be at peace’—the national anti-violence and stalking helpline, along with SvoltaDonna’s helpline, are clearly visible, so that every woman can report violence and abuse before it’s too late.”
In recognition of the local community’s commitment, Eurofork also extended its donation to SvoltaDonna, helping to support the association’s mission in fighting gender-based violence and assisting victims.
