On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Eurofork has chosen to take the field with an initiative that goes beyond sports: the sponsorship of the unified volleyball team Union Volley Pinerolo, part of the Special Olympics network.
Founded in 1968 in the United States through the efforts of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Special Olympics is dedicated to breaking down stereotypes about people with disabilities by promoting inclusion through sport.
Unified volleyball is a perfect example of this spirit: athletes with and without intellectual disabilities play together in mixed teams, where the true goal is not the final score, but the building of relationships, mutual respect, and personal growth.
Eurofork is proud to support this project that combines sport, inclusion, and community. We strongly believe that every person should have, as the founder of Special Olympics reminded us, “the chance to play, the chance to compete, and the chance to grow.”
